Bright, Blue and White!

The last week I spent in a place that I can only describe as paradise. Velassaru Maldives, was simply magical and it sounds cliché but it is indeed a paradise Island. I have never seen whiter beach sand or clearer blue waters and we do a bit of travelling so that's saying something.

We stayed in one of the Deluxe bungalows which are literally less than a minute walk from the beach front - which was glorious. The bungalow itself is a pretty much mini chalet with all the creature comforts and the outdoor shower was a delight. Wifi was strong at pretty much every corner of this island and strangely even when we ventured out a little distance into sea. I have to say while the water bungalows looked nice, we never felt that we were missing anything as the goodness of the island is felt pretty much everywhere.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff looked after every detail and our every need. Nothing was too much trouble and you can tell when staff are happy with what they do. We were told that it was the 'rainy' season (May-June) and while we did get some rain, it was very warm throughout and it never lasted long at all. In fact with the few showers, the sun came out in strong retaliation and temperatures were always about 31-34C which was more than enough for us

Breakfast was varied and plentiful and lunch and dining was available at any of the about 5 different restaurants. You must try the Teppanyaki restaurant - food 10/10, Theatre 10/10!. Of course as all their consumables are imported, alcohol was pricey but both of us are not large drinkers so this was not a problem. We booked this as a relaxing holiday and also to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was all that we hoped for and more. We would certainly love to go back and if we did, we would be sure to book through the excellent service you always get with Turquoise Holidays!

Velassaru Maldives was an experience not to forget!
